Meowdy, hello, welcome to my newsletter. This week, I'm very excited to share the results of my Official Taste Test (Chicken Edition, Volume One). Inspired by the recent controversy about Joey Chestnut and his ban from the annual hot dog eating contest, I rounded up some of my favorite chicken treats that I could devour in any eating contest. I also have brand new photos of me in my Official Bowtie for you to relish!

Before we get into the real meat and bones of this newsletter, here's a little taste of my latest photoshoot:

Taste test: What are the best chicken treats for cats?

Many chicken treats are available to purchase, and I will gladly try each and every one of them. I love them all—lickable treats, freeze-dried treats, and even dental treats make for a nice little snack.

There are countless treats to choose from, so my mom rounded up five different options for me to start with. I’ve rated them on a very comprehensive scale, measured by chicken leg emojis, with one 🍗 being the lowest and five 🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗 being the highest score for each category.

The categories include:

• Palatability: Do I finish all of the treat? How eager am I to try each one?

• Texture: Is the treat difficult to eat? Does it leave a mess?

• Ingredient quality: Is the treat natural or does it include additives? Does it include enough protein?

• Overall score 

Lickable treats: Nulo Freestyle Perfect Puree

I love the Nulo brand and their simple, all-natural ingredients. The Perfect Purees are one of my favorite treats from this brand, especially the Chicken Recipe. I couldn’t lick up this puree fast enough.

Freeze-dried treats: Nacho Freeze Fried Chicken Breast Cat Treats

I’ve had freeze-dried chicken treats before, but not this one from the Nacho brand. It was an immediate hit, and I was very impressed with the ingredient list—it’s just chicken. Nothing else! That’s my kind of snack!

Soft snacks: PurrSnackitty by Fromm (Chicken Flavor)

These soft and savory treats are kind of like potato chips. You can’t have just one! They’re small and easy to chew. I was able to scarf down quite a few within seconds. These treats were so tempting, I even tried to bite into the bag before my mom could open it for testing!

Dental treats: Greenies Chicken Flavored Smart Bites

Greenies are like chicken-flavored mints for cats. They offer the double benefit of being delicious and being good for your kitty’s teeth and breath. The Smart Bites are one of my favorite products from this brand because they’re soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside.

Tasty filling: Churu Bites

The popular brand INABA Churu is well-known by cats all over the world for their lickable treats. However, did you know they also make Churu Bites that are ridiculously delicious too? These soft-baked bites have a creamy and savory filling that I can’t get enough of!

• Texture: 🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗

• Ingredient quality: 🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗
